I had a hot date last night....

This is the cute guy that showed up at my front door!

And he brought me this little cutie...don't you love Scruffs new bandana?
The Lovely Couple...aren't we cute?!?!?
We went to this new place in town, The Miller House!
This is what the Messenger Inquirer said about the Miller House in a recent article:
The house was built in 1905 for $8,000 - a big price for the time - by Elmer Miller, a Whitesville native who became a prominent Owensboro businessman.
He founded the Miller Coal & Contract Co. at what's now Seventh Street and J.R. Miller in the late 1880s when he was barely in his 20s. Then, he expanded into transfer and hauling as well as road building.
Miller served on the Owensboro City Council, eventually became the biggest stockholder in the old Owensboro Banking Co. and owned stock in several other banks.
He liked to relax in the basement of his home, playing billiards on a table he had installed there.
Today, the basement is Elmer's, a bar with brick walls and a Chicago speakeasy atmosphere. It has a separate outside entrance as well an entrance from the restaurant.

The ambiance was classy, gorgeous, and very southern.  Even the food was Southern!
We got the Southern Sampler as an appetizer: cheese triangle, grits sticks, fried green tomatoes, and my favorite: sweet potato chips.
Hand breaded chicken tenders and Julian fries and veggies.
farfalle garlic cream sauce with mushrooms.

All the food was yummy.  We are always sharing and eating off each other's plates.  We also had strawberry shortcake for dessert.  It was soo good!  They also have Molasses Pie, it's the original owners' recipe (Lizzie Miller) that they found in the house.  If you live in the area, you have to try it out!  A wonderful date night!

Nina's First Shower!!!

Nine years ago a girl from Germany came to live with my family for the school year.  We fell in love with her quickly and she fit right in with the Caraway's.  Anyways, we kept in touch after she went back to Germany and she even came to see us almost every year.  While living in the MC, she met a boy and continued to date him even after she left the U.S. Long story short, they got married and moved back home.  They married quickly at the courthouse so she could go ahead and stay in the States. But they planned a wedding and we just got to bless her with a shower! The best part is that this was her actual FIRST shower.  I don't mean for HER WEDDING, I mean EVER.  She had never been to a bridal shower because they don't have them in Germany.  It was a wonderful day and I only put a few of all the pics we took.

Sisters...
ok...props to "Friend of the Year" for showing and helping me make her delicious truffles for the shower.  They were soo yummy and cute (even if they weren't Rach standards...she makes them way cuter)!  Rach, you are the best!  Thanks for your help!
I love this platter...I use it all the time!  Wedding gifts are the best!
Johnah had this cute idea to wrap our gifts in these bags and make a centerpiece out of them for the gift table.  This was before everyone came....the table was later loaded down and presents surrounding the table on the floor.  She got a lot of fun things!
We all made two desserts...this was my second.  I find it pretty funny that the girl who doesn't really like chocolate brought TWO Chocolate desserts.  Johnah made these really cute mint choc. brownies and April made her famous Red Velvet cupcakes and cream cheese icing...they are way too good.  Sondra, Nina's MIL made an amazing fruit salad that I seriously could not stop eating.  Anyways, everything turned out just perfect.

Our House Is a Very Very Bluff House....

Welcome to the Bluff house!
Over at
they are doing sort of a Tour of Homes!

This week is
your living space, but i miss
ed the kitchen space last week.  So I'm combining both
in this post! Hope you enjoy....lots oh pictures!!!

Through our front door!

This piece of furniture hides our tv and stuff.  Scott talked me into it at a thrift store and i love it!
on top. our engagement pic!

looking to the right of the front door!
looking right of the front door. my nanny's desk...i love it!
the whole wall and stairs.  isn't our "T" cute?!?!
from the stairs. I love our furniture...it used to belong to Scott's dad.
Making the way into our kitchen. Go into hall and turn right.
my sis's old hutch that we painted black.
On bottom of hutch...One of our wedding pictures, cake stand, and napkin holder from Jess E. !
looking into our kitchen. We painted all our cabinet's black and re-did our counter tops to white tile...including the back splash.  I love it! I always fell like our counter tops are so clean and fresh!
See, aren't they cute.  My trusty kitchen aid mixer and scott's trusty coffee grounder and coffee pot!  The cookie jar is my sentimental side...it was at my house when I was growing up.  My mom was actually going to throw it away. I felt sad for the little owl! : )
I have such tiny counter space, but you have to keep a Southern Living cook book handy.  This was from my friend Abigail...a few years back. Love it!
Our China...Mikasa...Platinum Crowne and glasses to match.
Our everyday dishes...can't even remember the name...something brand and the pattern is called picnic.  i love that they are white.  The little bowls are soo sweet...it's part of a mini set we also got from our wedding at Kohls.

There were a few more details, but I thought you guys would be overloaded with any more pics!

Somebunny LoVeS you!!!

The Scruffles Bunny!!!

Happy Easter from The Thompson's!!!
We are so thankful to the Lord for giving His Son to be born and live a sinless life, take the cup, endure the wrath, put in a grave, only to raise three days later so that we may fully live!!!!

Praise God... because the sinless Savior died, my sinful soul is counted free!

Winner and a Wedding

I WON I WON...I can't believe it!  I never win anything!  I won a Shealynn camera strap from the lovely Lindsey over at IMPERFECT! Yeah, I think the Heather Bailey fabric will look perfect on my already perfect camera!!!! YIPPY!

This absolutely adorable couple went from two seperate individuals to The Deckers!!!!  We were soo excited to witness and be apart of their wedded bliss.  It was a joy and blessing!

Didn't they have a fabulous CAKE! It was gorgeous! I couldn't stop taking pictures of it and all the great decor.  Hannah isn't a flower person so she choose FEATHERS...yes, I said feathers.  Beautiful black and white ostrich feathers pouring out of tall vases!  Fantastic!

Toast to the Bride and Groom!
It all reminded me a little of our wedding since it was the same church!  It's hard to believe that only a few short (eight) months ago I was joined for life to The Man!  I love him even more today!

Lately....

Guess who got a new haircut! ME!!! I was soo excited to finally get my hair shaped again by my fabulous stylist...Leah from House of Hair! She's awesome!
Here is the lovely, Rach! We had fun last weekend hanging out and chilling at Books-A-Million. I really wish we had a Barnes and Nobles! : (
For Valentines Day...we took the kids (our mentees) to Lowe's Build and Grow session. These are amazing for kids and families to do together! You work on a building project and this week the project was a jewelry box.
The Girls and Me!

I can't believe someone let me have a hammer! : )
Scott and Cory working on one for Cory's mom! She loved it!

My Valentines Day Present: This man did something amazing.....and I don't mean anything innappropriate! : )

He bought us new sheets for Valentines Day! Right after we got married, we switched our full bed for a queen size. Much easier to get a night's rest, but then all our pretty sheets didn't fit. So now we have pretty matching sheets thanks to this good-looking guy!
I racked up! He also got me some earrings and the first season of Criminal Minds. He always makes fun of me for watching criminal shows (he says that is all i watch)...but he must secretly love them since he bought me a WHOLE SEASON! : ) What fun gifts...he knows what I like!
Happy Valentines to everyone! Have a blessed day!
