This month....

Is National Foster Care Month!

Most everyone on here knows (because I talk so much about it) that we are in the process to become foster /adopt parents. We couldn't be more excited and are anxious to begin. Every child is made in the image of God and you can see the God's heart for them in His Word. As Christians we are called to help in some way! Even if you are not called to foster yourself, you can help! You can be advocates for these children in many ways.

Here are a few....
1. PRAY - ask God to protect, comfort and transform these kids' lives.
2. PROMOTE - You can go to the website www.fostercaremonth.org and share this opportunity and need with others that might be in a place to foster
3. SUPPORT - We've had so many loving friends and family encourage us and give us items to be prepared for a little one to arrive. Please do the same! Find some foster parent/agency to pour into!
4. RESPITE - This is a way to not FULLY commit yourselves to fostering. Respite care can be a weekend or other short stay while children are in foster care.

*** Another thing we should all remember and pray about is the fact that these kids didn't end up in foster care for no reason. There are BIG things going on in their family that NEED God's grace and constant prayers. There is not only hurting children in the US, but tons of hurting adults (who were most likely hurting children too) who need God's love displayed to them through Christians. Please find ways to reach out to hurting, in trouble and needy families so they can be rescued from the issues that need attention from social services.

I'll leave you with a little challenge and encouragement from God's Word...

Matthew 25: 31:46
35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'

37"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'

40"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

41"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'

44"They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'

45"He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'
