Changing Things Up a Bit...

I've changed my signature...love it! But I'm thinking about giving myself a new look. I would really love to give more than my blog a new look...hmm, we'll see. But for now...stay tuned...to a cutesy blog change!

Speaking of changing things UP....made me think about the movie! Did you guys see Disney's UP? Did you like it?

Well, I LOVED it!!! I didn't think kids would like it as much. But seeing as I went with three other adults...it was FABULOUS!!! It made me smile, it made me cry, and it made me love that I have The Man to grow old with! They were just TOO CUTE! Hope you guys liked it as much as I did!

Last night I did NOTHING but lay on my bum eating pizza and watching tv with The Man. I love him! It was nice to be bums together. Could be bad for both of us if that happened more often! Bums in love are still bums! : )

Good Old Friends at Good Old Home

This past weekend, The Man and I met Paul and Mer in Bowling Green on there stop through to Colorado. It was a MUCH NEEDED evening of catch up, lots of hugs, loud laughs, and too many pictures according to the men!
Yay, for Bowling Green resturants! You and Me was the perfect place to linger over dinner. Never thought I'd say I would LOVE a Bosnian restaurant.
We even had gorgeous scenery!
Scott's yummy pasta
They had the yummiest pizza. We always laugh how dinner works when I'm with Mer and Paul. People often mistake Paul and I as being together because we often split the same meal. We just happen to love all the fatty, yummy foods! It was even funnier that Scott and Mer got similar entrees. HAHA!
Spencer's Coffee house added another perfect relaxation spot for our night of reminiscing.
We got to walk around the square.... one of my favorite BG locations (next to Do Jo and
the Roadhouse)!

Merideth is such a "once in a lifetime" type of friend. She's a "match my laugh", "stay up til 3 am working on my wedding flowers the night before the big day", "creative liason on a variety of crafts", "tell ya what you really don't wanna hear", and "always point you toward Christ"
kind of friend!

She also has an equally fun husband, even with his lack of height (I'm pretty sure he wasn't trying) when it comes to jumping pictures!
I told ya about her crafty genius...she MADE this necklace and matching earrings. She'll be taking custom orders HERE!
BUT I'M FIRST, MER!

A few of my favorite things....

Here are a few of my favorite products! I could totally be one of those people that do customer reviews on different, new products coming out. I love hearing about and trying out new things that are on the lovely, Wal-Mart/Target shelves (BTW...why does Target's shelves make everything seem soo alluring?)!
Dr. Pepper...OF COURSE... anyone that half knows me, knows that this is my drink of choice!
Softlips. I ALWAYS have chapped or just not smooth lips. This wizard of a product not only makes my lips stay satiny smooth, it also makes ALL of my lipsticks look better!
This is soo refreshing after a long day or sweaty skin from being outside too long. The name totally fits...makes me want to melt in my bed after a shower. The lotion is wonderful too. And I love how spa looking their containers are. I'm such a schmuck for cute packaging!
I've heard many mixed reviews on this product...some love some hate. But this consumer LOVES. Maybe it's just the clorox name, but everything feels clean after I use it. Some say it's just watered down bleach...but that's ok with me. I clean my sinks and stuff with bleach and water every now and then just to ensure it's super clean!

Black Honey (almost lipstick) by Clinique has to be my all time FAVORITE lipstick. It is the perfect shade and it's glossy. When you look at it in the tube, it looks crazy dark. But it comes out looking like this perfect tint that's just right! Since reality hit after college, this is about the only thing i still splurge for at Clinique.
YUMMMMM...is all I have to say. Don't judge, but every two weeks when we go grocery shopping, we always have two of these on our lists. And most of the time both are gone by the first week! : ) Notice the half & half, there to please the pepperoni lover in me and the Man's "no bad meat" choices. We also like the cheese stuffed crust and the garlic bread crust. Why I sit in the mirror trying to figure out where those 10lbs (post wedding) have come from, I have no idea. I could just look on my grocery list to figure out part of the problem.

I have some SERIOUSLY thin, peeling nails. IF, big IF, I use this regularly (which I don't), it's the only thing that has ever made my nails look decent. Now if only there was a clock with a boot that came out every couple of days to kick my pampering butt in gear...i would have gorgeous nails and shaved legs (umm..that's another story)!

Easy As Pie...

Peach Pie, that is.

I love Peach Pie, and my mom has the best recipe. It was my Great Aunt Irene's recipe, and it's soo easy. Even amature baker's like me could make this pie!

i love handwritten recipe cards (even though this one is in my handwriting).
it's a wonderful memory of others when I pick one up that is their penmanship!
Final product! Scott loved it!
Moma's Peach Pie

1 unbaked pie shell
1 c. sugar
2 drops red food coloring
1 drop yellow food coloring (to get color of peaches)
1/2 c. flour
1/4 c. butter
2 c. sliced peaches (skin may be left one)
3 tbsps. water

Mix thoroughly sugar and food coloring. Add flour and butter. Mix till crumbly. Pour half in pie shell. Add peaches. Sprinkle water over peaches. Add remaining crumble mixture. Bake at 450 for 15 min. then 350 for 30 min. or until lightly brown.
Now what should I do with those yummies?
These were huge!
We had tons of fun picking these over at my MIL's. I hadn't picked blackberries since I was like 10! It wasn't all I remembered it was... haha!

4 th of July and family trip to Nashville!

Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July. I made a trifold of these delicious berries, vanilla pudding, and angel food cake. YUM YUM... and thought the colors were perfectly festive!
Got to see these cute kids while we were in TN! Aren't they stinkin' adorable?!?!?
There was a lot of monkeying around
(and to answer your question: no, this good aunt would never let her neice and nephew jump/flip from one bed to the other...not this wonderful aunt) : )

the glowing couple...can't expectant father's glow too?
me and my daddy! I straightened my hair, what do you think?

Maybe I should be a straightner...mine is an OLD, not very good hand-me-down from my sis.

My bro and SIL....14 yrs. still soo in love!

we went swimming at our hotel and the k's came to swim with us... yippy!

the "c" kid's loved it! super fun!

ate lots of yummy food. *forgot to take a pic of the glorious zaxby's...hmm, wonder if God will have Zaxby's for me on the New Earth...sounds good to me!!!!
swimming/relaxing (if you count your 8 yr. old nephew thinking he has to sink you every 5 min.)
k and baby k....love you both!
all in all I couldn't have asked for a better overnight trip!

new clothes, yummy food, and GREAT fellowship!

One Small Ben & Jerry's...ONE BIG DEAL!!!

Ok..so if you know The MAN or me, you'd know we are both lovers...not fighters! We are both people pleasers and for the most part...hate making a fuss about anything. But we do blow up little things into these long discussions and comically bring them up wondering what was our deal about such and such.

Well, the other night we had dinner at Ann and Herman's (scott's mom and step dad). Dinner was soo good, as always. Thanks Herman! Scott wanted to stop by Wally World on the way home to get our nephew's b-day present. I didn't want to go in because we'd been swimming and I was a mess. But I did offer some brilliant advise...bring out some cream puffs with you! Now anyone that knows me, understands my dessert weirdness. I don't really like chocolate or most sweet things like other girls. I LOVE bread, pastries, and all sorts of pies!!! And definately CREAM PUFFS!
Scott was taking FOREVER, and the whole time I sat there imagining the bliss of enjoying some cream puffs. And how they would be the perfect ending for the perfect night! Aww...if only life went soo smoothly. Scott came out, and as he got in the car explained how he couldn't find the cream puffs. So he brought me ice cream instead....one tiny ben &jerry's for him and one for me. I was SOOOO disappointed because it one, wasn't cream puffs and TWO I don't really like ice cream that much (unless it's homemade ice cream...i do like that). Now, I will every now and then eat ice cream, but it's like 10th down on my list.

Well, this took me on a stupid downward swirl about how things always seem to go this way...YES, PEOPLE...I'm still talking about how my sweet husband got me ice cream instead of cream puffs. Huge catastrophes are going on around the world, people suffering, and many other horrific things....and I'm complaining about dessert not being right.

How can one tiny little ben & jerry's be such a BIG DEAL!?!?!

Can we all say SB, grow up! and {poor scott}
his expression on how he felt about the whole issue!
This cute little guy was the culprit!
at least he didn't get me chocolate!

Blog Hop... favorite photograph

pic caption: summer days
This is my recent favorite picture. It's my niece just hanging out in the yard. It totally represents my childhood summers. I looked just like this when I was her age. What a wonderful season of life!
